Position Overview:
As a Lead Data Engineer at Discovery Partners, you will be responsible for overseeing the data governance and privacy aspects of our data-driven projects. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that our data management practices comply with industry regulations and standards, particularly in the areas of Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and consent management. Additionally, you will support the development of data models that align with governance policies and business needs. This role requires deep expertise in data governance, privacy, and tools like Alation.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of data governance policies, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations, particularly concerning PII and consent management, across all data processes.
- Collaborate with data architects and engineers to ensure that data models are developed in alignment with governance and privacy standards.
- Lead initiatives to improve data quality, consistency, and accessibility across the organization.
- Provide expertise and guidance on the use of Alation and other governance tools to manage and catalog data assets effectively.
- Monitor and assess data governance practices, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes.
- Support cross-functional teams in understanding and applying data governance policies in their workflows.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and evolving regulations related to data governance and privacy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in data management, with a focus on data governance and privacy.
- Expertise in Alation and other data governance tools, with strong experience in managing data cataloging and governance processes.
- Hands on experience with Azure data bricks ,Big Data Solutions, Data Integration, Data Science.
- In-depth knowledge of data privacy regulations, including PII and consent management.
- Strong understanding of data modeling principles and their application within governance frameworks.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to guide teams and stakeholders on governance and privacy best practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on ensuring data compliance and integrity.
